tour de france 2024: stage 7
by Rémy Rossi
It’s what’s up here
Is helmet design simply a mind game?
Weepy goodbyes to dimples and teardrops
Yesterday’s TT lids are left behind
In favor of
Monstorous buckets.
A race against the clock
In which if the large helmet were to fall
On the pavement
It would be a roadblock.
Buttered with contours and oculus
Smoothed with reflective lenses
At least they don’t weigh
As much as a trash can.
Darth Vader really was
The father.
The original TT specialist
With the hood to match.
Tuck your head down
And pray for a win
You’re already wearing
The Pope's hat.
